The performance of PT Rekayasa Industri (Rekind) in providing the best service in the field of Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) continues to gain positive appreciation from many circles, one of which is recently, the appreciation pinned by the Magazine of Electricity Indonesia.The nation’s only EPC company was awarded the award “Commitment to the Implementation of Electricity TKDN.” Rekind has a big role in supporting the realization of the national energy industry, through the construction of power plants. And even greater, in this development Rekind always puts forward local products as support for government programs to realize aspects of the Domestic Component Level (TKDN).
This is the third award that Rekind has received throughout 2021. Previously, by the World Safety Organization (WSO) Safety Culture Award (WISCA), Rekind was named to win the 4 Stars (Silver) award for Implemented Safety Culture Program in Organization. Even the Managing Director of Rekind, Alex Dharma Balen, was awarded the CEO Concern Award 2021, for his commitment to prioritizing Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) in every project that Rekind worked on.
The award for Rekind’s commitment to Electricity TKDN was handed over by Prof. Dr. Ir. Iwa Garniwa, M.K., M.T., Professor of UI and Rector of STT PLN, to the President Director of Rekind Alex Dharma Balen at Binakarna, Hotel Bidakara, South Jakarta Thursday (18/3).
“Since the beginning we have always been committed to always prioritizing quality domestic products to support every project activity. Although there are components that must be done, that is the last choice, because we, Indonesia, also have many quality products to support activities in the EPC industry, “said the President Director of Rekind, Alex Dharman Balen.Rekind is not a new ‘player’ in the energy sector, especially in building power plants. Its work has entered 40 years. The efforts of this nation-owned company in realizing electrical energy in Indonesia are illustrated by the establishment of PLTU IPP 2 x 25 MW, in the Mamuju area, West Sulawesi.
This plant, continued Alex Dharman Balen, is owned and operated by Rekind’s subsidiary, PT Rekind Daya Mamuju (RDM) as a manifestation of Rekind’s support in accelerating the implementation of the National Strategic Project, related to the 35,000 MW power plant acceleration project, especially electricity in the West Sulawesi region.
“PLTU IPP Mamuju is a Rekind investment that has received a Commercial Operating Date (COD) from PT PLN (Persero) in September 2018 and is now entering the commercial stage,” he added.
In Sambelia, East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Rekind is also completing the Lombok CFSPP FTP-2 (2x50MW) PLTU project. His involvement with Rafako S.A (a Boiler maker from Poland) is not trusted to support the national electricity program under the auspices of PT PLN (Persero), increasing the increase in the electrification ratio on the island of Lombok, NTB.
In realizing national energy security, Rekind is also involved in the construction of the Rantau Dedap PLTP Project with a capacity of 98.4 MW (2 units). In this project, Rekind did not trust the EPC Geothermal Power Plant work package, including the Steam Gathering System and Wellpad. This project is located in Muara Enim Regency, Lahat Regency and Pagar Alam City, South Sumatra.Through mastery of technology and innovation and supported by the ability of human resources in the field of industrial design and engineering, Rekind continues to make a real contribution to the development of the earth in Indonesia. Since the first time involved in the geothermal field, Rekind has worked on 16 Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP) projects in Indonesia with a total capacity of 1009 MW. Rekind has also completed 7 Steam Power Plant (PLTU) projects in the country with a capacity of 1769 MW.
