PT Rekayasa Industri (Rekind) won the prestigious Oil & Gas industry award for the Asia Pacific region, at the 2023 Asian Downstream Summit & Asian Refining Technology Conference.
The Rekind delegation was represented by M. Darma Setiawan, EVP Engineering, Erwin Fahmi Artantono, VP 3D Design System, and Fandy Maulana Syah Rizal, VP System Development & Innovation Management. Fandy is believed to have won the Young Engineer Award, while the Downstream Project of the Year Appreciation was given to the JTB Gas Development Project, where Rekind shared the award with Hexagon.
It is worthy of pride that through the event which was held on 25 – 26 October 2023, at the Sand Expo & Conference Center, Singapore, the Downstream Project of the Year appreciation award to Rekind, represented by M. Darma Setiawan, was directly given by State Minister Low Yen Ling, from the Singapore Ministry of Trade and Industry. This is proof of international recognition, especially in Asia Pacific, of the competence of the subsidiary PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero).
The President Director of PT Rekayasa Industri, Triyani Utaminingsih, positively appreciated the award. This achievement is good news amidst the situation and condition of Rekind which is currently in the restructuring process. “What does this mean? Rekind does not remain silent or just wait for the ongoing restructuring process. We still do and create something useful. “The business restructuring process is still ongoing, as is the innovation and improvement process on the operational side, which is also continuing to move optimally and it has been proven that we can all get this prestigious award,” he explained proudly.
Downstream Project of the Year is an award that focuses on selecting the most committed projects and bringing change to the refinery or petrochemical industry. There are 3 Top Projects selected as nominees for this award, including the JTB Gas Development Project (Rekind in partnership with Hexagon), the H2 Optimization & CO2e Reduction Project (Petronas) and the Plant of the Future Project (Celanese).
Through a strict judging process, finally the winner was the JTB Gas Development Project which implemented digitalization in the design and construction of gas processing facilities in Bojonegoro led by Erwin Fahmi Artantono and the Team. In working on this digitalization technology, they implemented the Hexagon Solution, which has proven to have a positive impact through savings and increasing productivity for the National Strategic Project (PSN) carried out by Rekind as the main contractor.
The name Fandy Maulana Syah Rizal also shone no less in this prestigious event. He was awarded the Young Engineer Award, which is intended for young engineers because they are able to show their best potential and work for industrial development.
Apart from that, this award is also given as support for his performance and initiatives for the company. One more thing, the winner of this award is ‘predicted’ to be a talented young engineer with strong potential to reach top management level.
To get this award, the man who is familiarly called Fandy, had to ‘shift’ two other engineer nominees who happened to come from the same company, Petronas-Malaysia.
“Show that together we can rise and remain the best EPC company in welcoming a brighter future for the company and the nation,” added Yani.
