In 2024, the format of PT Rekayasa Industri (Rekind) Environmental Satisfaction Survey (SKL) activities will be slightly different, from previous years. This time, at the event, which is held every year, Rekind will present the skills of children with Down syndrome to show off their talents as coffee baristas.

The SKL activities centered on the ROB II Building, Floor I, and Rekind Head Office became even more lively. The 150 SKL participants who live in the RW 08 area, Kalibata subdistrict, Pancoran, South Jakarta, were invited to see up close the skills of children with special needs in making coffee.

According to SVP Corporate Secretary Rekind Edy Sutrisman, this activity was held as a concrete form of the company’s efforts to provide a positive social impact on the surrounding community, especially for children with special needs.

Even though these children’s skills in mixing coffee are not yet as skilled as those of professional baristas, Edy Sutrisman emphasized that the most important thing is to increase their self-confidence and raise public awareness about the importance of supporting the independence of children with special needs.

“We hope that this show of skill will inspire people to care more, understand their potential, and be moved to support the independence of children with Down syndrome. “This is part of our social vision to help people grow and develop with us,” said Edy Sutrisman.

The SKL activity itself is an annual survey conducted by Rekind to measure the social impact of programs implemented within the company area.

SKL is part of the company’s efforts to continue evaluating and perfecting its social responsibility programs to become increasingly beneficial to society while supporting the company’s sustainability. This activity was also attended by VP of Corporate Social Value (CSV) PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) Muhammad Radityo, and Head of Kalibata Village, Pancoran, South Jakarta, Herman S.Ap.

Muhammad Radityo explained the importance of SKL in helping companies assess the effectiveness and impact of various social programs that have been implemented. “SKL is a measuring tool for us to find out the extent to which the company’s social programs have a positive impact on the surrounding community. “The results of this survey, will be a reference for program improvement and innovation in the future,” explained Radityo.

Kalibata Village Head Herman also expressed his appreciation and support for the Rekind initiative, especially in activities that prioritize the participation of children with special needs.

According to Herman, Rekind’s presence in the Kalibata area since its inception has had a significant positive impact, especially in structuring the area and consistently implementing social programs. Furthermore, Herman hopes that cooperation between Rekind and Kalibata residents can continue, especially in handling problems that often hit this area, such as flooding.
