PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) together with PT Rekayasa Industri (Rekind) supported 200 orphans who were fostered by the Social Development Foundation in the Tugu Village area, Tugu District, North Jakarta.
In this collaboration, PT Pupuk Indonesia fully supports it through funding, while Rekind further sharpens the feasibility survey aspect which gives rise to considerations for providing compensation. From the results of a survey conducted by Rekind, the Social Development Foundation deserves to receive compensation.
The aim is more directed at supporting formal education, learning facilities, overnight stays and religious formation. Therefore, on Wednesday (23/8) compensation was provided. Represented by Herman Susatyo, VP Community Development (Comdev) & TJSL Rekind and his team.
If we delve deeper, this collaboration makes a special contribution in efforts to reduce the high number of social problems in society. Understandably, the children from the orphanage assisted by this foundation, which was founded on April 24 1998, come from children who live in areas where there is potential for social problems.
“For us, this compensation activity has a very big meaning, not only is it part of the company’s realization of social and environmental responsibility (TJSL) towards the community, but it is also a manifestation of the company’s support for the government in reducing the number of social problems that often occur in society,” said Edy Sutrisman, SVP Corporate Secretary & Legal Rekind.
Moreover, he continued, the Social Development Foundation educates orphaned children who live in densely populated areas and are very vulnerable to the emergence of social problems within them.
The Social Development Foundation fosters around 200 orphaned children through educational support, both formal and informal. These children are trained and educated according to their interests in both public and private schools. No less important than this guidance, these children are also provided with Islamic religious knowledge through the activities of reciting the Koran, reading and writing.
“Education and coaching are one of the best strongholds to protect the future successors of this nation from various things that threaten their future,” added Rika Susanti, SVP TJSL PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero).
One form of problem that often arises is the emergence of forms of adolescent behavior that are not in accordance with existing norms in society. For example, from brawls, drinking alcohol, narcotics abuse and use of illegal drugs, rape to murder. If these things are not immediately anticipated, of course they will cause bigger social problems.
“It can be said that the Social Development Orphanage does not have adequate facilities or management, however, this does not reduce the interest in the teaching and learning system for children about the Islamic religion. I am grateful for the support provided by PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) and PT Rekayasa Industri. “Hopefully our shared hopes can be realized through the support provided,” said A. Olan Armansyah, Chair of the Social Development Foundation.
