The floods that hit the Bekasi and Bogor areas, West Java, some time ago, left grief and quite severe damage. Thousands of houses were submerged in water, road access was disrupted, and residents’ activities were completely paralyzed. This disaster also had a direct impact on a number of employees of PT Rekayasa Industri (Rekind) or Rekindist.

In response to this situation, Rekind swiftly deployed a Disaster Response Team to help the victims, especially the affected Rekindists. This step is a real form of the company’s concern and empathy for its employees who experienced the disaster.

A total of 15 members of the Disaster Response Team consisting of the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL), Integrated Facility Services (IFS), and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Rekind divisions were deployed to the affected locations. They brought three operational vehicles filled with various aids, such as basic food packages, ta’jil, cleaning tools, and special equipment to help clean houses submerged in mud due to the flood.

“This team was formed purely on the initiative of all Rekind Directors and Management to help Rekindists affected by the flood directly. We hope this assistance can ease their burden a little amid this difficult situation,” said VP TJSL Rekind Herman Susatyo.

In addition to providing material assistance, the Rekind Disaster Response Team also showed concern by directly helping to clean the homes of employees affected by the flood. This step was taken so that Rekindists could return to their homes immediately, more comfortably and safely.

The data collection revealed that at least 40 Rekindists spread across several points in South Jakarta, East Jakarta, Bekasi, and Bogor became flood victims. Rekind ensures that every individual affected receives attention and assistance according to their needs.

“In addition to providing assistance, this activity also strengthens the sense of togetherness and solidarity between Management and employees. We want to ensure that every Rekindist feels supported, not only as a worker but as part of the big Rekind family,” added Herman.

Not only that, this social action is also part of Rekind’s TJSL commitment which not only cares about the wider community but also the welfare of its employees. This action is also part of the values upheld by Rekind as a company that is oriented towards social care. Rekind wants to ensure that its employees do not feel alone in facing disasters.
