PT Rekayasa Industri (Rekind) shows its commitment to supporting national food security by participating in the Cheap Market Movement, an initiative initiated by the National Food Agency and the Policy and Development Assistance Network (JPKP) led by Maret Samuel Sueken, who is also Rekind’s Independent Commissioner.
This event was held in Ciracas, East Jakarta, on March 24, 2025, and received high enthusiasm from the community.Thousands of residents attended to get various basic necessities at more affordable prices. In addition, a number of state officials also attended this activity as a form of support for the government’s efforts to stabilize food prices and help low-income people.
As a form of real contribution, Rekind’s Finance & HR Director Dedy Rinaldi was present representing Management and the company, in addition to also bringing one of Rekind’s fostered partners to participate in this cheap market. The fostered partners who joined in 2022 provide various basic necessities in the form of milk at prices lower than market prices, so that they can ease the burden on the community in meeting their daily needs.
According to VP TJSL (Social and Environmental Responsibility) Rekind Herman Susatyo, the company’s participation in this event is a real manifestation of their social responsibility towards the community. “We are always committed to being present and contributing to activities that have a direct impact on the community, especially in the food sector which is very vital for daily life,” said Herman convincingly.
This Cheap Market Movement is a solution for the community in dealing with frequent fluctuations in food prices. With the support of companies like Rekind, it is hoped that more people will be able to feel the benefits of this program.
A number of residents who attended this activity expressed their gratitude. “Alhamdulillah, the price of basic necessities here is much cheaper than in regular markets. This really helps us, especially in the midst of difficult economic conditions,” said Yustina, one of the Ciracas residents who shopped at the event.
In the future, it is hoped that more parties from the industrial and private sectors will participate in social programs like this. Active participation from various elements of society will further strengthen national food security and improve the welfare of society as a whole.
With a strong spirit of concern and collaboration, Rekind continues to strive to provide its best contribution to the nation, not only through innovation in the industrial sector, but also in real actions that have a direct impact on society.
